ZEN MONKS: 智皇 (p.757)ZEN MONKS: 南泉 (p.798)[today's He2na2n). It is said that already at an early age he was fascinated by the teaching of Emptiness (ko1ngjia4o 空教). He became novice under Da4hui4 大慧 from Mt. Da4we1i 大隈. Afterwards he got ordained by Vinaya master Ga3o 暠, who resided in the Hui4sha4n 慧善 monastery at Mt. So1ng 嵩. He studied the vinaya and the Sa1nlu4n 三論 teachings. Afterwards he joined the assembly of Ma3zu3 Da4oyi1 馬祖道一. In 637 he moved to Mt. Na2nqua2n 南泉 in Chi2ya2ng 池陽 where he continuously stayed for 30 years. His appellation is Na2nqua2n Gu3fo2 南泉古佛....]
