1. Huò 穫 and sè 穡 refer to the action of harvesting grain in general. 2. Yì 刈 refers to harvesting grain with special focus on the cutting of the grain. 3.     1. For harvesting, both can be used, but for catching wild animals one cannot use huo4 穫. This is so.

    2. However, as a marginal footnote it must be noted that not only 穀物 can be harvested huo4 穫, also the harvesting of beans can be described as huo4 穫.
