    olfactus refers to the subjective sensation caused by an objective smell.

    olor refers to a stench.

    ODOUR

    sapor refers objectively to the flavour which a thing has or oozes out.

    gustus or gustatus refers subjectively to the sensation occasioned by such an objective sapor or flavour.
