                            鼎,陶鼎為烹煮器;青銅鼎為調味盛食器,屬禮器。

                            鬲,三足空心鼎,一般陶製,可煮粥、制羹、燒開水,行於上古。

                            釜,無足鍋,常與甑配合,置灶上烹煮食物;陶釜早有,戰國以後,鐵釜久盛不衰。

                            漢代起成為古代炊鍋的通稱。

                            鍑,小口平底鍋。

                            鐺,漢代出現的三足有柄小鍋,可溫酒飯。

                            鑊,大鍋,有口語色彩。

                            甑,置於釜(鍋)上的陶製蒸鍋。有氣孔的底上鋪竹席箅。

                            箅上盛烹蒸食物,加熱釜中水,蒸氣上騰蒸熟食物。

                            從上古至後世不絕。

                            甗,由上部無底甑與下部無耳鬲相結合的蒸鍋,二者相連處設隔架,即有孔的銅片或竹架。

                            烹蒸原理與釜甑同,主要用於上古。

                            豆,高腳盤,盛肉食禮器;又作豆器總稱。其中陶豆稱 “ 登 ” ,盛無調味的濃湯;竹豆稱 “ 籩 ” ,專盛乾物。

                            瓶,小口大腹無蓋的小汲水器,又可作僧人盛水的食具,常作酒瓶通稱。

                            甕,小口大腹無蓋、大於缶的汲水器,又作盛水器。

                            甀、罌,相類,似大口鼓腹之缶:甀小,可汲水、盛醬等;

                            罌大,可作腰舟浮器,主要作盛水器,到宋代多作盛酒器。

                            缸,大甕,後起的汲水器,大口大腹。

                            罐,後起的小汲水器。
