    Modern Chinese Criteria
    打招呼 is the current modern word for greeting.

    招呼 is sometimes used by itself.

    抱拳 is to greet with one fist placed in the other hand, raised in front of one's chest.

    拱手 is to greet by cupping one hand in the other.

    請安 refers to a polite traditional greeting, sometimes onsomeone else's behalf.
