民生在三，
奉之如一。
而許廢立之事，
開不道之端，
下陵上替，
難以訓矣。
俗儒瀋淪鮑肆，
困於詭辯，
方論湯武為食馬肝，
以彈斯事者，
為不知權之為變，
貴於起善而不犯順，
不謂反理而叛義正也。
而前代立言者，
不析之以大道，
使有此情者加夫立剡鋒之端，
登方崩之山，
非所以延年長世，
遠危之術。
雖策命暫隆，
弘賞暴集，
無異乎犧牛之被紋繡，
淵魚之愛莽麥，
渴者之資口於云日之酒，
飢者之取飽於鬱肉漏脯也。
而屬筆者皆共褒之，
以為美談，
以不容誅之罪為知變，
使人悒而永慨者也。
