抱朴子答曰：
「道者，
儒之本也；
儒者，
道之末也。
先以為陰陽之術，
衆於忌諱，
使人拘畏；
而儒者博而寡要，
勞而少功；
墨者儉而難遵，
不可遍循；
法者嚴而少恩，
傷破仁義。
唯道家之教，
使人精神專一，
動合無形，
包儒墨之善，
總名法之要，
與時遷移，
應物變化，
指約而易明，
事少而功多，
務在全大宗之朴，
守真正之源者也。
而班固以史遷先黃老而後六經，
