恭敬而忮；
為義者，
布施而德；
君臣以相非，
骨肉以生怨，
則失禮義之本也，
故構而多責。
夫水積則生相食之魚，
土積則生自𡧢之獸，
禮義飾則生偽匿之士。
夫吹灰而欲無眯，
涉水而欲無濡，
不可得也。
古者，民童蒙不知西東，
貌不羡乎情，
而言不溢乎行。
其衣煖而無文，
其兵銖而無刃，
其歌樂而无轉，
其哭哀而無聲。
鑿井而飲，
耕田而食。
無所施其美，
亦不求得。
親戚不相毀譽，
朋友不相怨德。
及至禮義之生，
貨財之貴，
而詐偽萌興，
