已雕已琢，
還反於樸。
合而為道德，
離而為儀表。
其轉入玄冥，
其散應无形。
禮義節行，
又何以窮至治之本哉！
世之明事者，
多離道德之本，
曰
禮義足以治天下，
此未可與言術也。
所謂禮義者，
五帝三王之法籍風俗，
一世之迹也。
譬若芻狗土龍之始成，
文以青黃，
絹以綺繡，
纏以朱絲，
尸祝袀袨，
大夫端冕
以送迎之。
及其已用之後，
則壤土草薊而已，
夫有孰貴之！
故當舜之時，
有苗不服，
於是舜脩政偃兵，
