重愛曰失德，
重惡曰失威。
威德皆失，
則主危也。
故明王之所操者六：
生之、殺之、
富之、貧之、
貴之、賤之。
此六柄者，
主之所操也。
主之所處者四：
一曰文，二曰武，三曰威，四曰德。
此四位者，
主之所處也。
藉人以其所操，
命曰奪柄；
藉人以其所處，
命曰失位。
奪柄失位，
而求令之行，
不可得也。
法不平，
令不全，
是亦奪柄失位之道也。
