今者，
吾從門間觀其志氣，
恂恂自下，
思念深矣。
今子身長八尺，
乃為之僕御耳，
然子之意洋洋若自足者，
妾是以去也。 」
其夫謝曰：
「請自改，
何如？ 」
妻曰：
「是懷晏子之智，
而加以八尺之長也。
夫躬仁義，
事明主，
其名必揚矣。
且吾聞寧榮于義而賤，
不虛驕以貴。 」
于是其夫乃深自責，
學道謙遜，
常若不足。
晏子怪而問其故，
具以實對。
于是晏子賢其能納善自改，
升諸景公
以為大夫，
顯其妻以為命婦。
君子謂命婦知善。
