鄧州香嚴寺襲燈大師。
嗣大潙
諱智閑
其性聰敏。
在潙山會下、
多聞博記。
潙山一日曰、
汝常所説、
盡是章疏之中記持得來。
吾今問汝、
汝生下爲嬰兒時、
未辨東西南北。
當此之時、
與吾説看。
師下語、
并説道理、
竝不相契。
又於平生所集文字尋究、
總無此箇相契時節。
乃歎悲泣、
將諸文字以火爇却。
乃云、
我此生不敢望會禪。
且入山修行去。
便入武當山忠國師舊庵基卓庵。
一日併淨道路、
因棄礫撃竹響、
於時忽然大悟。
乃有頌曰、
