班氏著志，
牴牾者多。
在於《五行》 ，
蕪累尤甚。
今輒條其錯繆，
定為四科：
一曰引書失宜，
二曰敘事乖理，
三曰釋災多濫，
四曰古學不精。
又於四科之中，
疏為雜目，
一作「志」 ，非。
類聚區分。
一作「別」 。
編之如後。
第一科引書失宜者，
其流有四：
一曰史記、 《左氏》 ，
交錯相並；
二曰《春秋》 、史記，
雜亂難別；
三曰屢舉《春秋》 ，
言無定體；
四曰書名去取，
所記不同。
其志敘言之不從也，
先稱史記周單襄公告魯成公曰，
晉將有亂。
