其人天下之士，
幼有異才，
學無不覽，
文章俶儻，
清澹出一時。
任心觀書，
不為章句之學。
其篤行則信義惠和，
意罄如也。
常念蔭松柏，
詠詩書，
志氣跌宕，
不與俗人交。
俛眉暫仕，
歷國常侍員外郎、府功曹、臨湘令。
粟之入者，
悉散以贍親。
其為節也如此，
數百年未有此人焉。
至乃好妙賞文，
獨絕於世也。
又撰《晉史》 ，
奇功未遂，
